Lucie Manette is married to Charles Darnay. She rescued her father from jail with the help of Mr. Lorry. Lucie is called "the golden thread" in the story, because she holds her family's lives together. Lucie lived in France for most of her life, but also lived in England for a while . She was loved by both Charles Darnay and Sydney Carton. Even though Darnay married Lucie, Carton was still deeply in love with her and would do anything to make her happy.
